Impactful H1 2025 for the EU CBRN CoE Project 101 across the Middle East, Central Asia, and Southeast & Eastern Europe 🌍
P101 continues its mission to protect and (cyber-)secure CBRN critical infrastructure. In H1 2025, P101 achieved three key milestones:
📌 State of the Art study (SOTA)
📌 19 National reports using OSINT-based analysis
📌 Consultation visits in over half of the 19 partner countries
🇹🇯 Tajikistan | 17–19 February
Reviewed CBRN frameworks with the CBRN SSA, focusing on site security and cyber-physical risks. Discussions highlighted the need for improved emergency preparedness and coordination.
🇷🇸 Serbia | 12–13 March
Consultations at the Vinča Institute covered physical protection and cybersecurity of radiological sites. Partners agreed to enhance cooperation on risk assessment and infrastructure resilience.
🇬🇪 Georgia | 25–27 March
Engaged agencies in health, security, and environment on critical infrastructure protection. Site visits included national laboratories and radiological facilities.
🇲🇩 Moldova | 3–4 April
Dialogues with ministries and civil protection services focused on risk mapping and training needs. The team visited chemical storage sites and emergency operations centres.
🇲🇪 Montenegro | 14–15 April
Assessed capabilities in CI protection, cybersecurity, and cross-border risk management. Discussions addressed alignment with EU Directive 2022/2557 and NIS2. Visit to the Western Balkans Cyber Capacity Centre (WB3C).
🇧🇦 Bosnia & Herzegovina | 17 April
Held a focused mission with state and entity-level actors on cyber risk and institutional roles. Reviewed gaps in coordination and explored needs for national-level planning.
🇲🇳 Mongolia | 29 Apr–2 May
Visited hazardous chemical warehouses and a radiological institute in Ulaanbaatar. Emphasis was placed on digital risk tools, including AI-powered alerts and monitoring.
🇧🇪 Brussels | 12–16 May
Strategic Roundtable and Steering Committee held during the 10th NFP Meeting. Reviewed progress, aligned on pilots, and discussed implementation for Phase 2.
